I thought The Princess and the Magic Ears was the first book I've co-illustrated. I was wrong. In 1984, (I was four)my dad and I wrote and illustrated a book called Pegasus is Stuck. This is a lovely tale about Bluebird helping Pegasus who is stuck in a muddy patch. Bluebird works tirelessly to bring beak-fulls of straw for Pegasus to step upon. Finally he is able to exit the mud. At the end, Bluebird earns the right to enter the special land where Pegasus dwells because of his selfless giving. Looking at this book fills me with memories. The cover is made from the back of a Mad Lib cover (I LOVED Mad Libs)and the pages are folded, light blue Eckankar ads featuring Darwin Gross. I marvel at my dad's creativity.
